Kenyan politician and governor of Kisumu County Professor Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o has been confirmed dead today morning at his home in Kisumu.
The former minister of health services had been diagnosed of Prostate cancer and had been treated in multiple occasions at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) Medical Center by Dr. Mack Roach in early 2011.
The governor who has not been shy to talk about his health can be remembered to have candidly opened up about his ailments, Prostate cancer which he has been batting for more that 9 years.
Confirming his death, the family’s spokesperson James Onyango said that the Governor had succumbed to Prostate cancer at his Kisumu home today morning.
Kisumu Governor had earlier revealed that he was currently recovering from a 90-minute surgery he underwent a week ago in the United States, before his cancer condition worsened, deteriorating his health condition.
The governor was also hospitalized at the Aga Khan hospital in Nairobi after a minor accident late last year.
